Adidas may not have as many basketball shoes to offer as Nike does, but they have a few pair that really get the job done. I’ve done some digging, read a ton of reviews, and worn them myself to see what each pair offers.
You’ll see me repeat certain phrases and redefine certain words, but that’s only because I know not everyone will jump around the page and will not read the description for each shoe.
Read on and enjoy!
Adidas D Rose 3 Mens Basketball Shoe – The Adidas D Rose 3’s are a solid step up from the last version of this popular shoe. They’re super lightweight and are a perfect shoe for guards and wing players. Read on for more! Click here for more reviews, pricing, and pictures of the Adidas D Rose 3
Traction – Features a herringbone pattern from heel to toe. The herringbone always delivers great traction. The rubber can take a little “breaking in” before it performs well on all surfaces, but overall, the traction is strong.
Cushion – Has a ” Full length compression molded EVA” which is standard practice for Adidas. The cushion offers great support and absorbs impact evenly across the foot.
Material – The upper is made of synthetic leather which is extremely durable and its sturdiness gives great support.
Fit – True to size. The material it’s made out of allows it to accomodate all different foot shapes.
Support – Offers a SprintFrame chassis that gives good stability. Also solid ankle support and protection provided by a padded Geofit collar
Price – $160
Adidas Crazy Light 2 Mens Basketball Shoe – The Crazy Lights are another solid shoe from Adidas. They’re true to their name in that they’re extremely light! Click here for more reviews, pricing, and pictures of the Adidas Crazy Light 2
Traction – Offers solid traction but is best suited for indoor use.
Cushion – Has a full length EVA foam midsole, which again, feels good on the foot and absorbs impact evenly across the foot.
Material – The upper is composed of three separate layers; mesh, nylon and a synthetic top layer. The three layer approach offers a lot of stability for quick lateral moves.
Fit – They tend to be a bit narrow, so if you have a wider foot it may be best if you go up 1/2 a size.
Support – The three layer upper mentioned before make these shoes very stable and supportive.
Price – As low as $89.99 (Depending on color and size)
Adidas AdiPower Howard 3 Mens Basketball Shoe – The AdiPower Howard 3’s are on e of the only shoes designed specifically for center’s and they provide just about everything bigger and taller players need. I wouldn’t recommend them for guards or wing players because they’re a bit heaver and don’t allow for as much freedom in lateral moves as some of the other options on this list.
